On Thursday, we heard the incredibly sad news that Her Majesty The Queen had passed away. We gathered as a school on  Friday to remember her and to celebrate her life. In the summer, we received a letter of thanks from Her Majesty, for the wonderful letters we sent her on the occasion of her platinum jubilee in June. I shared this with the children - we will treasure this special delivery always.  

We are sending our formal condolences to the royal family - our thoughts and prayers are very much with them, and their loved ones, at this difficult time. The Queen has been an inspirational figurehead and moral leader. She has given great comfort to those in need throughout the years of her reign. She will be sorely missed by so many around the world.

Following the announcement over the weekend that her state funeral will be a bank holiday, I can confirm that school be closed to pupils and staff on Monday 19th September as a mark of respect.
