The school is sited on Torre Road in the centre of St. Patrick’s Parish. The school has extensive grounds that include its own playing fields. The new St. Patrick’s Church is situated next door to the school enabling easy access for parents and children.

THE BUILDING

The original building dates from 1935 and was originally St. Brigid’s Girls’ Secondary Modern School. In 1979 at the first re-organisation it became a mixed 9-13 Middle School. At this time the original building was updated and refurbished and a new block was built near to the school gates. At the second re-organisation in 1989 the school became an aided Primary day school catering for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 11 years of age. The name changed from St. Brigid’s to St. Patrick’s.

In the last few years the school has been completely re-decorated and internal refurbishment has produced an attractive working environment for staff and pupils. A new computer suite has been added enabling whole classes to study computer skills. School security has been improved with the introduction of recorded CCTV surveillance.
