ST. PATRICK’S HOME-SCHOOL AGREEMENT
We believe that parents are the first and foremost educators of their children. The Home-School Agreement is a statement which specifies:

a) the school’s aims and values
b) the school’s educational responsibilities (what it will provide)
c) the parental responsibilities (what you are expected to do to help)
d) our school’s expectations of its pupils.

In addition to the Agreement, it is a legal requirement that the governing body takes all reasonable steps to ensure that all the parents of pupils who have been admitted to the school:
a) take note of the school’s aims and values
b) take note of the school’s responsibilities
c) acknowledge their responsibilities as parents
d) acknowledge the school’s expectation of the pupils’ conduct.

The St. Patrick’s Home-School Agreement is a three way partnership between parents, school and children. The Agreement will be presented and signed by the school and parents early in the autumn term. Where appropriate pupils may also be invited to sign.

VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION SCHEME (VCS)
The Catholic community have to pay 10% of all building and repair costs of our school. The Bishop has asked for parents to make a voluntary contribution of £5 per child per term to help towards these costs. Families with more than 2 children would pay a maximum of £10 per term. We want to continue to provide a Catholic Education at St. Patrick’s school so we support the scheme. The voluntary contribution will be collected at the beginning of each term.

COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
Regular newsletters are sent out to parents throughout the school year providing them with details of school events and relevant information.

CONSULTATION WITH PARENTS
A consultation evening is held in the first term of the school year to give parents and staff an opportunity to discuss how children have settled into their new classes. A further consultation evening is arranged later in the school year. A written report celebrating the pupils achievements is sent home towards the end of the school year. Parents may make appointments throughout the year to discuss their children, should the need arise. Parents will be contacted if the school considers there is a problem which requires discussion.
