' I became a Governor of St Patrick's as I have a keen interest in Primary Education. My own primary school was St Charles -   predecessor to St Patrick's. I was brought up on the Torres and now live in East End Park. I attend St Patrick's Church where I am   president of the SVP Conference. I'm a retired primary school teacher and taught at Brownhill Primary School-just behind St   Patrick's-as well as other schools. I am a former Leeds City Councillor for the area and, in 2005, I was made Honorary Alderman of   the City of Leeds in recognition of my public service. I have previously served as a governor of Mount St Mary's High School, St   Michael's College and East End Park Special School.

Whilst my children were pupils at St Patrick's I was offered the opportunity to become the LEA Governor. This was a role I was more than happy to accept as I felt it was a way of giving something back to both the school and parish community. After some changes to the Governing Body, I moved to being a Foundation Governor in 2017.  I have worked for Leeds City Council for over 30 years, most of which has been in or around Members / Democratic Services. I feel it is an honour and a privilege to be a member of this Governing Body and will always do my very best to help ensure that the staff and pupils are in a happy and friendly environment which allows them to achieve their full potential.

I was approached by the Head Teacher on recommendations from others to become a Govenor. My daughter attended St Patricks and I was an active member of FOSP for many years even after she had left the School. I am an active member of St Patricks Church in a number of roles including cathecist for confirmation.
I have worked in Finance for many years and hope to bring some of the skills learnt to the role.
I am very proud of St Patricks School and its heritage. I want to help it continue to be a school to be proud of where children learn, grow and gain confidence, and feel part of a loving caring community.
